Hummingbird gardens

After gardening at home and at school as the Garden Education Coordinator at the Weinstein JCC, Owner Amanda Montgomery decided to take the leap and launch Hummingbird Gardens (HBG), growing cut flowers, herbs, and edible flowers at home on the half acre she shares with her husband Michael, two cats (Desmond & Lyric), and most recently four Plymouth Rock hens (Trudy, Mo (RIP), Leslie Knope, and Sargent Pepper).

By employing growing practices rooted in respect and love for the land, we are creating not only a place that inspire the senses, but also a catalyst for collaboration and community building. HBG is a founding member of the Richmond Flower Collective, and a member of the Association for Specialty Cut Flower Growers (ASCFG), and Floret Farm's Farm Florist Collective.

Amanda still loves to teach and help develop thriving school garden programs. If you're interested in consulting services please email amanda{at}hbgrva{dot}com.
